My Story:

It was a particularly smoggy April day in Northern India, and the rickshaws were flying by with astonishing speed. While the first nine days of the month had been rather ordinary, it was the tenth day that brought joy all across the State of Bihar. A particularly cute and amazing child was born, and so was I.

After spending my first two years in India, my Mom and I moved to the United States in search of electricity. See, at that time in India, electricity was gone more often than not and we did not get Telemundo. Just kidding. Telemundo seems to reach everywhere. Also, we came to the U.S. so we could join my Dad in Urbana-Champaign, where he was finishing his engineering doctorate at the University of Illinois. To those of you who can understand, it was rough being a FIB and a FOB at the same time, so we moved to the greatest State in this land of ours: Wisconsin.

I grew up in Wisconsin and spent most of my life surrounded by silos, corn, cattle, and cheese. Okay, that is not true. Contrary to popular belief, the lives of very few Wisconsinites revolve around cheddar cheese and cow-tipping. Actually, I never even considered or even had the opportunity to go cow-tipping. You might have also noticed I don't say "eh" after everything. That is normally reserved for my Northern friends, got it-eh? Believe it or not, I grew up in a place where we had shopping malls, universities, and professional sports teams. We even had automobiles!

My youth was spent collecting sportscards and playing backyard sports. Before I knew it, I graduated from Brookfield East High School in 1994. I then went on to pursue an Engineering Degree from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Ahhh….Madison. It is by far one of the best cities in this country. Not only because it is a perennial member of Fortune magazine's best places to live, but also because it is where I "grew up" and discovered myself. The lake, the school, the people, the social scene, the capitol, the everything. It is just a great place that will always be part of me. Three years into my education there, I realized I was not meeting the goals I had set for myself. Subsequently, I took a risk and transferred to the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee. My risk paid off, as I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering in December of 1999. At this point, I could have gotten a job and crunched some numbers. Instead, I decided I wanted to pursue further education.

Within a few days of graduating, I found myself in a promising program at Northwestern University. Here, I am currently pursuing my Master's Degree in Project Management. This program consists of classes from both the McCormick Graduate School of Engineering and the Kellogg Graduate School of Management. I have accepted becoming a FIB, but only on a temporary basis…I guess I just love the city of Chicago that much. However, let us not get confused. The Bears will always be a Division III college football team to me, the Bulls literally cannot buy a free agent (says wonders about the team), and I am not going to get started about the Cubs and Sox. Anyway, I will graduate in December of 2000 after which I will enter the real world.

My Interests:

I guess I am what you would call a sports nut. Specifically, I am particualarily fond of golf, football, basketball, and baseball. Watching or playing...it really does not matter. As you might expect, I am a die hard Wisconsin sports fan. The Packers, Bucks, Brewers, Badgers, and UWM Panthers will always be my only teams. I could write for hours on any one of those teams, but I will spare you with a quick hit. The Pack WILL make the playoffs this year at 10-6 and Brett will be just fine. All the doubters will jump back on. The Bucks are contenders in the East, and I expect that they have a good chance to make it to the Eastern Conference Finals. The Badgers football team has high expectations, but should live up to them when they play FSU for the national title in January. The Brewers? At least we are getting a new stadium and the All Star Game in 2002. And the Panthers...we got a blue chip recruit, a solid team, and a great coach. Come March, it's tourney time for the Panthers. As far as music goes, I am pretty diverse. My favorite bands range from Phish to the Beastie Boys. The last four years have found me drifting towards jam style rock, but I do listen to rap and hip hop as well. I have a strong passion for bluesy music, and my favorite bluesman is easily the great Robert Johnson. In my humble opinion, he is as close as America will get to a "father" of the blues...that is because, as everyone knows, blues type music originated in tribal Africa. For fun, I also play my guitar rather poorly...but I have a lot of fun doing it!

My Family:

My immediate family consists of four other individuals. The youngest member of our family is my brother, Ajay. He is 12 years old and will start seventh grade in a matter of weeks. He's a smart and nice kid, an avid sports fan, and he does whatever I tell him. Could I want more? The next youngest is my sister Angy, who is 18 years old and will start business school at the University of Wisconsin at Madison this September. Yikes. I still remember her asking if she could play with my friends and I, and now she's out on her own. She is also a good kid, who has nothing but promise ahead of her. Finally, there are my parents. They own and operate several businesses, the most involving being an engineering consulting firm. They have done quite well for themselves, and have given us a great stick to measure up against. Even matching them would be wonderful. Personally, they have always given us whatever we have wanted, and my siblings and I will be forever indebted to them.

My Girlfriend:

The other main part of my life is my girlfriend, Amber. I am not sure where to begin, as she is as big a reason as any for where I have found myself today. We have been dating for about four years now, and will have many more years to come. She graduated with degrees in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Wisconsin at Madison in May of 1999, and amassed just about every honor in the process. Currently, she is enrolled in graduate school at Emory University where she is on a doctoral track in the clinical psychology department. What she studies is pretty amazing, and I will not even attempt to explain it. I do know that it involoves a great deal of genetics though.

My Friends:

And yes, my friends...Brian, Nadeem, G Love, V, Joel, and MCA...I ain't got nuttin' but love for y'all.
